AND THE BOOK OSCAR GOES TO …
The world of books has its own Oscar awards, only the nominated are obviously books; those who wrote them and all those best-supporting folks who brought the writer’s story or idea to life! (Editors. Cover designers, etc.) And just as the film world has several movie award competitions throughout the year, (Oscars, Golden Globes, Critic’s Choice) so does the book world.

WHAT READERS ARE SAYING ABOUT NO CHEATIN’, JUST EATIN’!
“Anyone who has ever dieted will see themselves somewhere in this story. If not, you’re not human! Giddy up! This one’s a doozy!” Laura Menze, Chief Love Officer, Ready-Match.com
THINK OF IT AS EAT, PRAY, LOVE GOES ON A DIET!
“No Cheatin,’Just Eatin'” shines a light on the struggles of yo-yo dieting and weight shame that too many of us share. Author Mary Jo Fay takes you on her journey from fit high school track team body, to her getting way too close to a 200 pound body at mid-life, to finally track star weight again. Through heartbreak, pain, tragedy and loss, to the carrot dangling prize of being in shape for her daughter’s wedding, we walk with her. We’ve been there. This book shows us a different way, a doable way to slim down and find the body we know is in there somewhere. Mary Catherine Carwile … speaker and award winning author of Heartstrings at 35,000 Feet
Once again, Mary Jo Fay knocks it out of the park with her new book about weight loss. Taking a new angle on the topic, she has cleverly mixed her own life of dieting ups and downs with information on how she eventually lost 45 pounds eating anything she wanted. If you think you’re the only one who has ever struggled with a diet and lost, you owe it to yourself to read this book. Highly recommended! – Judith Briles, the Book Shepherd

Great funny book
Great funny book. I happen to know Rancho Cortez, its owners and employees. Description to the T. Great relaxing lecture. Recommend.
Sit down and enter into the comfortably narrated No Cheatin’…Just Eatin’. Mary Jo Fay provides a unique approach to weight loss through recounting her experiences in a humorous and poignant voice, one that draws the reader into her journey and affirms the potential for all readers to share similar achievements.
As if in the room telling her story over a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, Fay sets the reader at ease with comforting advice that avoids chastising the individual for forays away from the target. Fay’s book provides arms to hug, a shoulder to cry on, and the humor required in the weight loss journey, and her genuine encouragement provides the necessary confidence for success.
In addition, the book possesses a certain charm, a confident tone, and a heartfelt acknowledgment. She’s been there, done that, and conquered. And so can you.
This book is not a “how to lose weight ” book. Rather it’s a story of a real person in a real world with weight challenges that are real. Not miraculous but real life. After reading this you know Mary Jo and her world. You care about her friends, her family and her dog. You see her successes and her failures. You root her on. She’s a friend that you’ve known forever. She’s you. She’s me. And like us she makes it work. It’s not easy, nor is it for anyone, but she’s honest with herself and the reader. You want her to succeed because it is possible. She learns how and shares her story intimately and honestly. A real joy I could not put down.
So wonderful to “meet” Mary Jo on the pages of her newest book. I’m so happy to know that someone else would rather eat chocolate than almost anything else…..and at any time. It’s all a matter of keeping score, just a bit. It’s not hard, it’s freeing! Her story of weight loss and gain could be anyone’s. Who hasn’t been on this rollercoaster. Mary Jo got off the rollercoaster and is showing us how we can join her for a smoother ride through life with regards to the battle of the bulge. In her “after” photos she looks like she’s lost not only weight but years! Way to go Mary Jo!
I love my wine and chocolate, but most diet books say no to both. Then I read this book and found out it wasn’t about denying myself, but instead learning to approach food without guilt. I learned about taking responsibility for my choices in food and to make them my own. Have I lost a lot of weight? I am slowly losing it and have accomplished 10 pounds less on the scale. I don’t feel guilty about enjoying a glass or two of wine with my husband. I know the next day I will be right back on track. Having the right tools makes a big difference. Denying yourself is not the way to lose weight. Owning your decisions and learning to make the right choices is the way to go. Thank you, Mary Jo Fay – you have done what others only dream about.
Great book – easy read. After years of being on fad diets, counting calories, spending a fortune on special foods that tasted horrible- FINALLY I can eat the way I want to and lose weight and feel like I haven’t been cheated. No stress involved – just eat what you were born to eat and live your life. The book showed me the way and I actually feel I like I have accomplished something which is also is motivating – I am no longer tied to a diet that is stressing me out every second of the day.
Mary Jo tells ‘the truth’ in a way that everyone can relate to; a down-to earth, honestly raw approach while sharing completely relatable stories you’ll giggle about! We’ve all played the mind games she’s played; she’s just vulnerable and humble enough to expose her underbelly; a belly we all tend to hide in more ways than one! If you don’t see your own weight or food struggle in hers, you’re not human! Giddy up! This one’s a doozy!
This is a really good fun fast read. It is the life story of Mary Jo’s yoyo eating and weight problems and how she finally beats her weight issues in this unique way of eating. If you have always had trouble with your weight and tried everything you can think of to beat your eating and weight issues, then read this book and see if Mary Jo’s solution works for you. Think portion size, calories in and your output. Enjoy!
